Logistics
We have worked on projects with Fortune 500 companies
to develop a number of applications designed to streamline
business logistics processes. These applications were
designed to augment existing ERP systems providing functionality
and capabilities specific to a customer environment and
not available in the off the shelf product.
The development environment includes Microsoft .NET and
Lotus Notes with interfaces to SAP and Oracle as well as
utilizing EDI messaging. Following is a list of some of
the applications with brief descriptions.
Quotation Tracker
Quotation Tracker was designed to coordinate and track
global quotations for a major Semiconductor Manufacturing
Operation providing instant Worldwide visibility of quotation
activities to Tactical Marketing and Sales. The Quotation
Tracker contains a complete reference database of the Materials
List, Customer Information, Contract Pricing and Existing
Quotations. Price controls are enforced and transaction
margins calculated. An interface to ERP (SAP) is provides
transparent information exchange. Visibility of information
is restricted based on a multi-tier security level.
A web interface allows field offices and Reps to requesting
quotations directly through a browser. A direct interface
to customers (Solectron, Celestica, SCI) and their local
quotation systems such as Agilent’s qPro completely eliminates
the paper trail.
Sales Incentive System
Sales Incentive System was designed to manage a comprehensive
compensation package for a sales organization. The
Sales Incentive System incorporates 17 different plans,
which are user configurable including components such as
Budget to Volume, Key Sales Objectives and Design Wins.
Instant and secure access is provided to employees and their
managers to view and manage the current performance status.
Quarterly and yearly payout reports are generated for employees,
HR and Accounting. An on-line objective entry, evaluation
and approval flow is built in as well as enforcement of
deadlines with reminder notifications. A direct interface
to HR systems insures synchronization of employee information.
Forecast Tracker
Forecast Tracker is a global top level sales performance
monitoring tool with data organized by product line and
region. It incorporates a six month rolling forecast based
on monthly data input by the Key Account Managers and the
Regional Managers, which is then reconciled to the established
goals. Data cubes and summary reports are created monthly
for the management.
BOM Tracker
BOM Tracker is a business creation tool designed for
the electronic component industry. It collects Bill of Material
(BOM) information from sales and filed applications as soon
as new designs become available. This information in turn
is used to drive business fulfillment with an objective
of maximizing commodity parts by leveraging sole source
parts.
Account Creator
Account Creator is a tool for creating new direct accounts.
In large sales organizations a customer account has to reach
a specific threshold and meet specific other requirements
before it becomes a direct service account; otherwise it
is handled by the second tier sales such as rep organizations.
The Account Creator collects all the essential information
such as sales volumes, credit ratings, sales forecasts,
tax status, import/export restrictions, etc and channels
it through a corporate approval cycle for direct account
creation. Finally it notifies the concerned individuals
of the action taken.
Contact Tracker
Contact Tracker is a custom Customer Relationship Module
(CRM) designed to facilitate target mailings on new product
releases and major announcement to key customers. Entries
are entered by field sales and managed according to strict
corporate policy with view restricted by authorization level.
An interface is provided to a portal for direct sample and
brochure requests.
Project Tracking System
Project Tracking System was created as a high-level project
management tool complementing Microsoft Project. Instant
view of project status within a horizon is provided to managers.
Behind-Schedule and At-Risk items are identified and escalated.
Project templates are created based on a pyramid structure
modeled on management hierarchy in a specific organization.
Multiple reports and queries are generated.
Harmonized Tariff System
Harmonized Tariff System was designed to streamline the
import of off-shore manufactured components. It quickly
and accurately assigns codes, from the US Harmonized Tariff
Schedule, to import goods. Since the forms have to be at
customs prior to the arrival of the material at the port
of entry factories often prepare forms prior to shipment
with discrepancies resulting. Any inaccuracies cause delays
and penalties. Harmonized Tariff System avoids these problems
by correctly identifying the goods and creating the customs
forms based on the actual shipping list.
